This week:  Week of October 28, 2018, we will be reviewing and completing unfinished assignments.   All Assignments for October will be due by Monday, November 5, 2018.

In November,  students and I will conference to discuss individual goals and learning objectives.

We will also finish reading our first chapter book, One Crazy Summer.

Homework

Every student needs to read at least 20 minutes every evening.   They are also encouraged to work on any assignments that are currently assigned online.

Keep an eye out for special review, writing, or projects that will be assigned as homework.

Daily Assignments

It is now the 2nd marking period.  We had spent a lot of time establishing classroom procedures and routines.  We are now at a point where I am checking for learning.  Assignments are no longer based on complete/incomplete status, but are being checked and graded for demonstration of understanding.

In class routines and do now assignments are given credit per day and students also earn participation points.  These points can not be made up if missed.  (Excused absences are not counted against the student.)

Each class begins with a DoNow assignment.  This is completed individually and serves as a quick check and also introduction for mini-lesson. They are scored and put into the gradebook before going over the answers.
