May 9, 2014 Friday Parent Letter

May 9, 2014

 Dear Parents/Guardians:

Happy Friday!  Sensational evening is the best word to describe our Queen & Prince Ball!   The lovely queens and their handsome princes experienced an elegant evening filled with fun, laughter, math, and tears of joy.  On behalf of the Genesee STEM staff family, I want to express our sincere appreciation to all who were able to participate.  If you missed this grand event, mark your calendars in advance to attend the next year gala!  I personally would like to thank the entire GSTEMA staff for their continual dedication, commitment, and creativity for the students and families who attend our school!  You are true role models of our GSTEMA Code and Mission!  Partnerships are valuable to the success of any educational program.  We have been blessed with fantastic community partners!  We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr.  Charles Metcalfe, owner of Chuck-A-Luck Photography for his beautiful backdrop and camera equipment to capture special memories for our families!  Thank you to Mr. Meredith for capturing the memorable evening with beautiful pictures.  Attendees will receive their complementary picture and order form to purchase additional keepsakes.

SHOWTIME!  Science and Enrollment Fair, Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Genesee STEM Academy from 11am-2pm.  Bring the family and friends to enjoy a phenomenal learning experience and lots of fun with all of our students as they show off their STEM knowledge!  You will be able to engage in hands on learning investigations and observe a race of cars, designed and built by our students; plus tours, refreshments, and bounce house.

It’s time to enroll students for the 2014-15 school year!  Our school is adding 6th grade and Junior 1st (Advanced Kindergarten).  Spread the word and invite your friends to enroll at a premier STEM Academy!  May 17th is a great opportunity to see up close why we are so special!

The CCC after school club needs your support for their community outreach drive.  Please, donate dish detergent and hygiene supplies for their initiative.  We need your assistance to be successful.  Let’s be a blessing to others and teach our children the benefit of giving!

Growing, Growing!  The Agriculture Club’s plants are thriving!  Stop by and see the outstanding work they are accomplishing.  We can still use parent and community support with our garden.  For more information on how you can be helpful contact Mrs. Shay  at 810-600-6466.  We appreciate your support!

There are many important upcoming events you don’t want to miss, please read your letters and mark your calendars.  If you have any questions give us a call.

Preschool and Kindergarten Graduation will be held Friday, June 20 @ 2:00pm.  Parents, please remember to order your keepsake cap & gown for this memorable occasion.  The cost is $20.00; orders must be paid on or before Thursday, May 22 to guarantee delivery by graduation.  Order forms are available in the Main Office or Learn Preschool classroom.
