Genesee County's First S.T.E.M Certified School

May 1, 2015 Friday Parent Letter

May 1, 2015

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Happy FridayIt’s been a glorious praise shouting week filled with many blessings!  Our 5th/6th grade students received their grand prize award of $400.00 and composite bins from the GeneseeCounty recycling foundation.  We are very proud of their achievement!

Ms. Vermilya’s students made recycled paper with geometric designs as they integrated science, math, and art.  Their projects were absolutely beautiful!  Mrs. Coulter’s 2nd grade class has been practicing their entrepreneur skills with service and goods; integrating social studies, math, and writing.  The Kindergarten classes are joining the world of entrepreneurs as they launch their “Flower Shop” project!

The 4th grade started their M-Step assessment testing this week and 5th grade has completed their assessments.  Please, make sure your child is present for testing.  Remember a good night rest, breakfast, and encouragement will help them be successful.  We sincerely appreciate your support.

Our annual “Queen and Prince Ball” is quickly approaching Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 6:00pm.  Space is limited so purchase your ticket in advance for only $5.00 per person.  Advance tickets receive VIP treatment.  Tickets will be sold at the door for $10.00 each until space is filled.  Advance tickets sales ends Thursday at 3:00pm from the office.  If you have any questions give us a call.

Kindergarten parents don’t forget to order your student’s cap and gown.  Orders are due Thursday, May 7th.  Call the office if you have any questions.

Parent volunteers are needed to help with classroom projects.  If you would like to assist please give us a call your support is greatly appreciated.

We are enrolling for next school year 2015-16.  We have exciting new programs which will be added to our educational program, including 7th grade and diagnostic placement testing.  Spread the word why GeneseeSTEMAcademy is a great opportunity for children to learn and be ready for their college/career journey!   We have limited spaces available so people should enroll now our Kindergarten classes are almost full.

The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, in cooperation with Holy Spirit Lutheran and Thrivent Financial, will once again distribute food to families and individuals in need.  Food distribution will take place once a month May through October.  For more information, please follow the link to the flyer.
