March 6, 2015 Friday Parent Letter

March 6, 2015

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Happy Friday!  This has been an awesome week as we begin to celebrate “March Reading Month!”  The students began with the famous book by Dr. Seuss “Green Eggs and Ham”.  The teachers prepared green eggs and ham for the students to enjoy as the story was read during our morning meeting!  When you are visiting the school you will see student records displayed as they work towards earning their “Diamond Record Label”.  We sincerely appreciate your support with our various reading activities.  Reading at home or school is just a couple of ways you can be involved to celebrate reading month.

All students will take part in MAP Assessment testing next week for two weeks.  Please make sure your child is in attendance and gets plenty of rest the night before.

The Science/Engineering Zone is vibrating with the sounds of rollercoaster thrills!  The students working with our Stemnatics program have designed their rollercoasters and sent them on a test run this week.  As great engineers they will make necessary adjustments to their design and launch their rollercoasters next week!

Progress reports are going out today.  If your child doesn’t bring home their progress report home please call the school.  Parent/Teacher conferences begin Thursday, March 26. Schedule forms are also being sent home and need to be returned no later than March 12.  Please plan to attend your child’s conference.  Our goal is to work collaboratively to help every child be successful!

We are always working towards improving our school.  Please, join us for our Parent Ambassador meeting to review what we are doing, share ideas of how we can support you with possible workshops, and give ideas on how we can improve.  We value your input and need your support.  Our next meeting is Tuesday, March 10th at 5:00 pm.
