August 28, 2014 Friday Parent Letter
August 28, 2014
Happy Thursday! We had our first fire drill. The students did an excellent job exiting the building safely and quickly! We will be conducting fire, tornado, and lockdown drills through-out the school year as we required by the State of Michigan. When we complete a drill they are published on our website under Family Resources .Fire Safety, Emergency Notifications & Lock down Information for your review.
Today we began our school wide “Treasure Chest” positive behavior incentive program to recognize students for following the GSTEMA Code! All staff members can enter a student name for displaying exemplary behavior. Prize drawings will be held weekly and all students will be recognized monthly for citizenship. Citizenship and Attendance awards will be given out at our Parent Ambassador meetings. Our goal is to focus on positive behavior, encouraging students to be good citizens!
Our school day begins at 8:15 am and ends at 3:30pm. Please, make sure your child has excellent attendance and is here on time ready to learn. Students are recognized monthly for perfect attendance! Students should report to the gym every morning, use the gym door entrance. Students can begin arriving at 7:30am, breakfast 7:45am. Students are dismissed from the gym at 3:30pm. If you are picking up your child please report to the gym for sign out safety procedures.
