September 19, 2014 Friday Parent Letter
September 19, 2014
Happy Friday! We had an awesome week with 5/6th grade students traveling to Applewood for an adventurous learning experience and Channel 25 Mr. Ahmad Bajiey, meteorologist visiting our K-2nd grade classes with a phenomenal weather lesson! We closed out our week with Dr. Craig Douglas, SVSU Charter School Director and Mr. Paul Chaffee from SVSU visiting our school. They were very impressed with our level of instruction, student engagement, and overall appearance of the school! We have awesome GSTEMA FamilyJ
Parents please make sure your child is dressed according to our school dress code policy. With the changing of weather students should be dressed for cooler temperatures. Hoodies are not allowed to be worn in the school building, therefore solid color sweaters or turtleneck shirts are a great layer for warmth.
Our Educational Board of Directors voted for GSTEMA to be a Nut Free Zone. Students should avoid bringing items with nuts. We want to keep everyone safe. Thank you in advance for your support!
It’s hard to believe students are discussing Halloween costumes. We celebrate Fall Festival with students wearing career focused costumes. You can be creative without spending a lot of moneyJ. More information regarding Fall Festival will be sent out later.
School Improvement meeting is Tuesday, September 23rd at 4pm. We are looking for a couple of parents to join our School Improvement Team. Please, call and let me know if you are interested or need more details. Participants receive GSTEMA Parent Scholar credits.
Have a wonderful weekend!
