May 29, 2015 Friday Parent Letter
May 29, 2015
Happy Friday! It was a busy week at GeneseeSTEMAcademy! Students have been working on their Science Fair projects and end of marking period assessments. Our Science Fair is Saturday, June 6th, 11:00-2:00pm. Please, mark your calendars and plan to attend this exciting exhibit!
Mr. Lynn’s class did a cool investigation to determine which food source their plants would prefer and grow. They tested water, red Gatorade, and coffee with creamer. To our amazement the coffee with creamer has shown the most positive growth!
Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for May 28th, June 2nd, and June 4th. Our final conference is for students who haven’t demonstrated mastery of their grade level standards to be promoted next year. We also welcome any parents who want to discuss their child’s academic progress. If you missed the previous conference please attend our final conference. Teachers are required to hold two parent conferences. We need your participation and support to be successful. If you need a different time, please let us know and we will try to accommodate your schedule.
M-Step continues with our 3rd and 6th grade students testing from now to June 5th. Next week will be make-ups for M-Step and beginning our final MAP assessment. Thank you for making sure your child is present and ready to be successful!
School Dismissal is a very busy time. Please, make sure you drive all the way back and not park on the side near our entrance. We want to keep traffic flowing and avoid any accidents. We appreciate your support.
Congratulations to our GISD Head Start Preschool students who have successfully completed their year and are preparing for Kindergarten! We are proud to have you join the GeneseeSTEMAcademy family!
We are now enrolling students for the 2015/16 school year. If you didn’t complete your yellow registration form and return to school, please do so immediately to reserve your child’s placement.
Remember to discuss bus safety rules with your child. The bus driver needs to focus on driving and not behavior problems. Thank you for your support.
June is filled with numerous exciting events for our students and parents! Please, mark your calendars, return field trip permission slips, admission money, and participate. See back for events.
