March 19, 2015 Thursday Parent Letter
March 19, 2015
Happy Thursday! We’ve had an exciting week taking our NWEA MAP assessments. The students continue to overall perform very well reaching or exceeding their goal target! Teachers will be sharing your child’s results at Parent/Teacher Conferences. We will hold a parent workshop to provide strategies on how to use the performance data and support your student’s continual academic growth.
Reading month has definitely been “Rocking” to the sounds of reading. The GSTEMA Leprechaun has been leaving his mark throughout the school. We sincerely appreciate everyone who came to our “Read with Me” event! Continue to help your child earn stars reading every evening. Reading is the key to their success!
Our STEM/Enrollment Fair held this past Saturday was truly “Out of this World” with engaging activities for all ages. It was truly spectacular to watch the adult engineers in the room design their straw towers. Mr. Jackson (Kona Jackson’s father) won the challenge with a tower of approximately 24” inches tall! Thank you to all our volunteers, staff, students, parents, and community for participating in our annual event.
We need your support to earn bonus points from our Box Top program. Please, send in your Campbell labels and box tops. We want to win the challenge and earn points for student events!
Our 2nd Annual King and Princess Ball is tonight starting promptly at 6:00pm. There are only a few seats available. If you don’t have your tickets and want to participate arrive early to purchase your tickets at the door. Doors will open at 5:45pm. We are ready for a enchanting evening of fun for everyone! Thank you for your support. Remember photo packages will be available to purchase.
Parking is becoming a challenge and safety concern. Please, use the rear parking lot for morning arrival and afternoon dismissal. The goal is to keep everyone safe and avoid traffic clogs. Thank you for supporting our goal.
