June 25, 2015 Thursday Parent Letter
June 25, 2015
Happy Thursday! It was an amazing last week at GeneseeSTEMAcademy! Our students had a wonderful learning experience on their field trip to Lansing! The upper grades 4th – 6th toured the State Capitol and discovered some interesting facts about government. It was a delight to take them on a journey around Michigan State’s campus and view some special places; like the stadium, Sparty, president’s house, Mrs. Cheek’s dorm, engineering buildings, planetarium, Wharton Center and much more. The K-3rd grade students enjoyed Potter Park Zoo as they observed animals from all over the globe! They rode by the State Capitol and briefly around campus to see a few attractions. All-in-all it was a wonderful time for everyone! Thank you to the parents who volunteered their time to support our college/career initiative field trips. Today we celebrate a successful year with Field Day! Thank you to staff and volunteers for making the day fun for everyone.
We are so proud of our students’ accomplishments with their publicized Turtle T. Chronicle newspaper, published by Mr. Christopher Johnson! The students learned how to be good stewards of their environment. The newspaper is a method for students to apply their knowledge.
Congratulations to the Academic Scholars who earned their Presidential Award for Outstanding Academic Performance! We also salute the Attendance and Citizenship stars for the 2014/15 school year. We applaud your success.
Students’ final report card will be mailed home. Please, make sure we have your correct summer mailing address on file. See Mrs. Harvey to make any corrections.
