Friday Parent Letter September 18, 2015

September 18, 2015

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Happy Friday!  It’s been an awesome week.  Students are settling down demonstrating understanding of teamwork, respect, and following directions.  They are working with their content common core standards appropriate for their grade level and in some cases challenged beyond.  For example; the 6th grade students completed a 9th grade math standard on complex fractions and demonstrated 85% of the students with 80% or higher mastery!

The students are taking their NWEA MAP and doing a great job!  We look forward to sharing the results.  We are scheduled to send home Progress Reports this week, however due to the number of new students enrolling and focus on building community we will send home Progress Reports next week.

Congratulations to the Flint PAL Wolverine Freshmen football team.  They played the Flint PAL Spartans on Tuesday and won scoring 12 to 6 making their record 1 won, 1 loss.  We have three students on the team representing Genesee STEM – Brian Jackson, Jaylen Jones, & Omar Young.  Keep up the good work fellas!!  Our cheerleaders are – Alana Jones, Kaitlin Simpson, & Kayla Simpson.  Good work cheering them to victory girls!!  Upcoming games are:
