February 21, 2014 Friday Parent Letter
February 21, 2014
Happy Friday! We have had a phenomenal week preparing for our first Black History Program! The building has been bustling with energy as students explore history, working collaboratively to create an authentic program. It has brought tears to my eyes as I visited the classrooms and was blessed with multi-grade level children working side by side! Please, share your support and participate in this extraordinary event Tuesday, February 25th at 6pm. Please, complete and return the reservation form to help us prepare properly. Space is limited and we want to make sure we can accommodate our guest. Spread the word family and friends are invited. We want to celebrate and showcase our very talented students!
Our first Annual King and Princess Ball was spectacular! The Genesee STEM Academy staff would like to extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who attended the elegant evening! Thank you to Mr. Meredith for capturing the memorable evening with beautiful pictures. Attendees will receive their complementary picture and order form to purchase additional keepsakes. We would like to share highlights with our school family and friends, therefore we need your permission to publish pictures. Included with the order form is a permission slip to publish. You only need to return if you decline having your pictures shared. Thank you for your support!
Our staff and students were delighted with a performance by The Troubadours, a group consisting of a string quartet and storyteller from the Flint Institute of Music. The group brings elementary-aged students important curriculum and character education lessons in a fun, music-filled half hour. Their theme was ‘The Hero In You’. Ask your child to tell you about their experience.
