April 2, 2015 Thursday Parent Letter
April 2, 2015
Happy Thursday! We had an awesome March with numerous fun reading activities, testing, and scientific inquiry projects! Our students are doing a phenomenal job learning how to solve problems and reason as scientist and engineers. The 5th and 6th grade students are studying the solar system and are creating their own mars colonies! We look forward to showcasing their work later in April or May, stay tuned.
“Rocking through Reading” is so much fun! I’m delighted to announce students earned various medal albums for their reading achievement! We will be announcing their accomplishments when we return from spring break and all the data collected.
Today ends our Parent/Teacher Conference for the 4th Marking Period. Thank you to all the parents/guardians who attended conferences! If you couldn’t participate you still have time to call and arrange for a makeup conference. This conference is critical to discuss where your child is currently performing and learning goals to finish the year on a positive note. Together we can make a difference in the lives of our children.
Our final session of After school programs has been delayed and will not be starting when the students return on April 13 as previously stated in our school calendar. Upon returning programs will be finalized and you will receive forms to register your child.
Our third-sixth grade students will be taking the Michigan, M-Step assessment test (April-May) when we return from spring break. Students and teachers have been working diligently to prepare. Our students will be successful, because Genesee STEM Academy is the best!
We are enrolling for next school year 2015-16. We have exciting new programs which will be added to our educational program, including 7th grade and diagnostic placement testing. Spread the word why GeneseeSTEMAcademy is a great opportunity for children to learn and be ready for their college/career journey! We have limited spaces available so people should enroll now our Kindergarten classes are almost full.
Mark your calendars:
